The first Receiver of Divine gifts
and the first Distributor of these gifts

It is not easy to inherit the Kingdom of God, but the Orthodox heart should not be troubled. The face of the wondrous saints of God and the Virgin Mary, who is dominant in this face, we know by the experience of our faith, are always with us. She, according to the words of St. John Chrysostom, is the first Receiver of Divine gifts and the first Distributor of these gifts and blessings to people who seek help from the Lord and mercy from Her in needs and circumstances.

Patriarch Pimen (Izvekov)
Слово в день празднования Казанской иконы Божией Матери
Богоявленский собор, 21 июля 1979 г.
