Bible. Darkness and light

Darkness from which new images emerge

Possibility becomes reality.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Пс 88, 12-13. Пс 135, 5. Пс 145, 6. Сир 18, 1. Ин 1, 3. Деян 14, 15. Евр 11, 3. Откр 14, 7.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep (σκότος ἐπάνω τῆς ἀβύσσου). And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Пс 32, 9.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light (ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ φωτὸς) from the darknes. (ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σκότους).
5 And God called the light Day (τὸ φῶς ἡμέραν), and the darkness he called Night (τὸ σκότος ἐκάλεσεν νύκτα). And the evening and the morning were the first day.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day (εἰς ἀρχὰς τῆς ἡμέρας), and the lesser light to rule the night (εἰς ἀρχὰς τῆς νυκτός): he made the stars also. Втор 4, 19. Иер 31, 35.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night (τῆς ἡμέρας καὶ τῆς νυκτὸς), and to divide the light (ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ φωτὸς) from the darkness (ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σκότους): and God saw that it was good. Пс 103, 19-20.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The life of the Word is the light of men

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Притч 8, 22. 1 Ин 1, 1-2.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Быт 1, 3. Пс 32, 6.
4 In him was life (ἐν αὐτῷ ζωὴ ἦν); and the life was the light of men (ἡ ζωὴ ἦν τὸ φῶς τῶν ἀνθρώπων).
5 And the light shineth in darkness (τὸ φῶς ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ φαίνει); and the darkness comprehended it not (ἡ σκοτία αὐτὸ οὐ κατέλαβεν). Ин 3, 19.

To get out of the darkness, one must go to the Light.

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world (ἐγώ εἰμι τὸ φῶς): he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness (ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ), but shall have the light of life (τὸ φῶς τῆς ζωῆς). Ин 1, 5. Ин 9, 5. 1 Ин 1, 5.

46 I am come a light (ἐγὼ φῶς) into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness (ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ). Ин 3, 19.

Light to enlighten those who sit in darkness.

76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; Лк 1, 17.
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, Иер 23, 5. Зах 3, 8.
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness (ἐν σκότει) and in the shadow of death (σκιᾷ θανάτου), to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Judgment is the separation of light and darkness

Doing evil deeds instills darkness and hatred for the light in the heart. He who does righteousness is not afraid of the light and strives for the light.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world (τὸ φῶς ἐλήλυθεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον), and men loved darkness rather than light (ἠγάπησαν οἱ ἄνθρωποι μᾶλλον τὸ σκότος ἢ τὸ φῶς), because their deeds were evil (πονηρὰ). Ин 1, 5. Ин 8, 12.
20 For every one that doeth evil (ὁ φαῦλα) hateth the light (μισεῖ τὸ φῶς), neither cometh to the light (οὐκ ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸ φῶς), lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light (ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸ φῶς), that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while (μικρὸν χρόνον) is the light with you (τὸ φῶς ἐν ὑμῖν ἐστιν). Walk while ye have the light (τὸ φῶς ἔχετε), lest darkness (σκοτία) come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness (ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ) knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light (τὸ φῶς ἔχετε), believe in the light (πιστεύετε εἰς τὸ φῶς), that ye may be the children of light (υἱοὶ φωτὸς γένησθε). These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
