Jewish religious chiliasm

The idea of the historical was introduced into world history by the Jews

This is the result, I think, of the way in which the Greeks interpreted the world. They conceived the world aesthetically, as a finite and harmonious cosmos. The most representative Hellenic thinkers conceived creation as something static, as a sort of classical contemplation of a well-ordered cosmos. This is true of all the great Greek philosophers, who could grasp neither the historical process nor that of historical fulfilment. To them history had no issue, no goal, no beginning even; in it everything was recurrent, eternally rotating and governed by a cyclic motion.

It is clear, I think, to any student of history that the Hellenic culture, world and consciousness were lacking in historical sense. They had no conception of history as fulfilling itself. It was the Jews who contributed the concept of ‘historical’ to world history, thereby discharging, in my opinion, the essence of their specific mission. They were the first to conceive the world as historical fulfilment in contradistinction to the cyclic process of the Greeks.

Berdyaev believes that the main mission of the Jewish people was: to introduce into the history of the human spirit the consciousness of a historical accomplishment, in contrast to the cycle in which this process seemed to the Hellenic consciousness.

The Messianic idea was introduced into world history by the Jews

For the Jews the idea of history turns upon die expectation of some future event which will bring with it a solution of history. … That was the Messianic idea peculiar to the Jewish people. It constitutes their specific contribution to the history of the human spirit.

This is the messianic idea:

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

These times are still ahead and these are not the times after the Last Judgment, i.e. these times will happen within our history. For “the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

It is obvious that at this time Satan is bound, because “neither shall they learn war any more.” Again this is the time before the Last Judgment, for “the cow and the bear shall feed.

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Aryan consciousness pointed the way to “contemplation of eternal life

Both the Hellenic and the Hebraic principle enter closely into the constitution of the European consciousness; their organic union in the Christian world had helped to inaugurate a new era.

Nikolai Berdyaev believes that the basis of European consciousness is based on these two principles: the Hellenic principle and the Jewish principle; from their combination the Christian world was formed.

The Aryan found it difficult to consider the idea of a historical destiny on earth. Their consciousness in this life was concerned with attaining to the contemplation of eternal life. To them the historical destiny of mankind appeared devoid of interest when compared with the contemplation of other spiritual worlds.

Modern Christianity has lost the messianic idea. It addresses itself entirely only to “the contemplation of eternal life”.

We should not forget that the Aryan consciousness is a pagan consciousness, but we took the messianic idea from the Holy Scriptures.

We must wait for the conversion of the Jews

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in (ἄχρις οὗ τὸ πλήρωμα τῶν ἐθνῶν εἰσέλθῃ).

What does this “fullness of the Gentiles” mean?

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled (ἄχρι πληρωθῶσιν καιροὶ ἐθνῶν).

What does this “fulfillment of the times of the Gentiles” mean?

The day will come when Poland, cured of its long madness, will become a living bridge between the shrine of the East and the West. A powerful king will lend a helping hand to the persecuted high priest. Then true prophets will arise from among all nations and will be witnesses to the king and the priest. Then the faith of Christ will be glorified, then the people of Israel will be converted. They will be converted because they will see and know the kingdom of the Messiah in power and deed. And then Israel will not be superfluous among Egypt and Assur, among Poland and Russia.
