Bible. Persecution

Tribulation or persecution comes because of the word

20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution (θλίψεως ἢ διωγμοῦ διὰ) ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

You are not of the world, therefore the world hates you

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 1Jo 3, 13.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Mat 10, 24. Mat 24, 9. Mar 13, 9. Luk 21, 12. Jhn 13, 16.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. Jhn 16, 3.

...whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service

1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. (λατρείαν προσφέρειν τῷ θεῷ ).
3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. Jhn 15, 21.
4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. Mat 9, 15. Jhn 14, 29.

Great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution (διωγμὸς μέγας) against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. Act 11, 19.
