²⁰ But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
²¹ Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution (θλίψεως ἢ διωγμοῦ διὰ) ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

¹⁸ If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 1Jo 3, 13.
¹⁹ If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
