Archbishop Loris Francesco Capovilla

The Italian Prelate of Roman Catholic Church. He is one of the oldest Roman Catholic bishops and was the Secretary of the Pope John XXIII.

Born: 14 October 1915; Pontelongo, Italy
Died: 14 May 2016; Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy

Bishop:  16 July 1967
Ordination:  23 May 1940

He formed a close friendship with Cardinal Roncalli (Pope John XXIII) when the Cardinal was Patriarch of Venice.

He remained at Roncalli's side after his election to the Papacy and would continue to do so as his Secretary until the Pope's death.

The Holy Office will take care of Fatima

«In his diary for November 19, 1959», indicates Msgr. Capovilla,
«John XXIII, after having received the new Bishop of Leiria-Fatima, noted: “Interesting talks with the Cardinal Secretary of State and the young Bishop of Fatima, Joao Pereira Venancio. We spoke at length about the seer of Fatima, today a good nun in Coimbra: the Holy Office will take care of everything and keep it on the right lines.”»
