Metropolitan Vitaly Ustinov
Secular name Rostislav Petrovich Ustinov.
He was appointed ruling bishop of Montreal and Canada, Bishop Vitaly founded a skete in Mansonville, Quebec. In Montreal, Bishop Vitaly built and magnificently equipped a large cathedral. The fine house of his(its) monastic farmstead and a residence is near to a cathedral. In this farmstead, a printing house operated, publishing service-books and the periodical "The Orthodox Bulletin". The death of Metropolitan Philaret in 1985 necessitated the election of a new Metropolitan. On 22 January 1986, Vitaly was elected Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, also retaining management of the Canadian diocese. Metropolitan Vitaly reposed on the 25th of September, 2006. He was buried in his Mansonville skete by the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in Exile. ROCOR bishops were not permitted to be present, consequently they served his funeral separately.
In everything give thanks to GodYou will be just fools-for-Christ. The Lord promised us that the True Church would go through all the vicissitudes and live to the very End of the World. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will conquer everyone, subdue everyone under His feet, but until that time you will be persecuted, tortured, mocked and considered half-crazy. Brace yourself, for you will be fools-for-Christ. And for everything, thank God with the shortest prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner." Ask for mercy, and if we are pardoned by God, then what does it matter to us that we will be considered crazy? But we are not crazy, but fools-for-Christ. Try to pray with your heart, because when you pray with your heart, you are praying with your whole being. Your prayer will reach the Throne of the Almighty, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Almighty Eternal God, from Whom you will receive such mercy, such power, which all the first martyrs of Christ had.
